Last weekend saw former Munster star JJ Hanrahan sit out Northampton’s shock defeat to Donncha O’Callaghan’s Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership opener. However, today the Kerry 22 year old came into the action early on as the Saints battled past the Newcastle Falcons and left a great reaction among supporters.
32 – G Pisi departs, so it’s a Saints debut for @JjHanrahan 😇 He slots in at 12

When JJ first entered the fray it stood at only 13-6 to the home side but it was only a matter of time until his presence was truly felt. Munster fans look away now!
Try! Burrell barrels over after a feed from Dickson. Hanrahan the instigator of an excellent few phases from the Saints
And then again…
Another beautiful offload from Hanrahan releases Burrell down the left flank. The centre draws Hammersley before feeding Foden to cross in the corner
All sounds pretty good according to the reporter here but the Northampton faithful were equally if not more blown away by the first-five-eight.
JJ Hanrahan some very classy touches. @SaintsRugby

The game eventually finished at 42-16 to Hanrahan’s men in a dream debut and he increased his popularity further by sticking around with fans to round off a great day.
