The Munster Schools Cup season gets rolling again next week and we will be keeping you updated from around the grounds as we continue our work as Ireland’s #1 schools rugby providers.

Five games take place across the province in round one and these are our previews and predictions for each clash…

Clement’s Vs Crescent

Venue: Dooradoyle

Time: Tuesday (KO 13:00).

Crescent will be heavy favourites here. Anything other than a comfortable victory for CCC would be a credit to St Clement’s.

Verdict: Crescent by 20

PBC Vs Castletroy

Venue: Muskerry RFC

Time: Tuesday (KO 13:00).

This should be an interesting encounter as a typically strong PBC take on one of Limerick’s strongest sides. Home advantage could be key.

Verdict: PBC by 10

Glenstal Vs Rockwell

Venue: Clifford Park

Time: Wednesday (KO 13:00).

Glenstal come into this game with many players from last year’s efforts braced for a second go at Junior Cup rugby. Unfortunately for the Murroe men, tries have not come easy for them this season and firepower is something much needed against a team with the quality of Rockwell.

Verdict: Rockwell by 7

CBC Vs Ardscoil

Venue: Lansdowne

Time: Wednesday (KO 13:00).

This CBC team won the McCarthy Cup competition last season and hope to go all the way again this year. In truth, it would take nothing less than a colossal effort from Ardscoil to defy the odds in this one.

Verdict: CBC by 15

Bandon Vs Munchin’s

Venue: Bandon RFC

Time: Thursday (KO 13:00).

Our favourites for the cup St Munchin’s make the lengthy trip to Bandon in high spirits following a string of convincing performance in recent months. Bandon and their impressive support stand in the way, but should the Limerick lads play to their standards, they could well be starting their campaign as they mean to go on.

Verdict: Munchin’s by 20
